Will HydraHorse fit into my trailer?

HydraHorse is designed to retro fit to any and all horse and livestock trailers. HydraHorse is designed to be customized to the owner’s specifications. This is because each trailer is unique to the owner and each horses needs will be different. Therefore, the system comes with all the materials and accessories to accommodate most trailers. From 2-Horse front loads, to slant loads, to goosenecks, to 12-horse trailers, the HydraHorse System can fit them all!

Where would I put the tank?

HydraHorse recommends the tank be placed in the front dressing room or rear tack room, or inside the manger compartment. However, the HydraHorse tank and pump assembly can be placed wherever the customer sees fit. We provide our customers with enough plumbing to accommodate the location that works best for them and their horses.

Can the system be removed?

HydraHorse is installed with self-tapping screws and the tank is secured with a tie down strap (included in each system). This allows HydraHorse to be easily installed and removed.

How durable is the system?

The patented HydraHorse system has been designed to be extremely durable. In addition to the heavy duty design, the HydraHorse system’s adaptability allows you to customize the placement of the product to further increase durability and functionality. Please see endorsement page.

What should I do about freezing and winterizing?

HydraHorse, has been tested for years in various climates. However, like any outdoor plumbing system (i.e. boats, RV’s), HydraHorse will freeze if not properly cared for. HydraHorse recommends that you winterize the system during the colder winter months. Nevertheless, HydraHorse knows you don’t stop hauling when it’s cold, so all parts and pieces are designed to withstand most mild temperatures. Included in the instruction manual are several weather preventative precautions as well.

Can HydraHorse adapt to my barn stall?

Yes, the patented bracketing system allows HydraHorse to be installed into barns, paddocks, and trailers alike. With the proper fittings, HydraHorse can be adapted to provide your horses with water in any location. For more specific information on system adaption please call 1877.404.0489.

How safe are the materials that make-up HydraHorse?

HydraHorse is designed for your horse’s health and safety. All of the plumbing used is FDA approved for human consumption. The bowls are made out of anodized aluminum to ensure a healthy and safe drinking environment. In addition, all metal edges are rounded and smoothed to protect horses from any potential cuts or scrapes.

What prevents flooding of the HydraHorse system?

HydraHorse is an on-demand system, meaning the pump is only running while the horses are drinking. An optional switch can be installed to kill power to the tank upon the owners demand.

Does water from the system splash out and into my trailer?

HydraHorse’s patented bowls are designed to be almost spill proof. The rolled over inside edge of the bowl keeps excess water inside the bowl while traveling down the road.

Can I tie HydraHorse into my existing watering system or weekend quarters?

Yes, HydraHorse can be adapted to tie into your pre-existing tank, or weekend quarters. However, HydraHorse can only be warranted for use with other HydraHorse products. Please call for more information. 1877.404.0489

Can HydraHorse be gravity fed?

Yes, HydraHorse can be gravity fed. If you already have a tank that is set up to do so, HydraHorse will still work properly. It should be noted that the flow of the water to the bowls will not be as strong and the system is recommended to be pressurized by HydraHorse pumps.

What kind of pump is being used?

HydraHorse uses an on demand, 45 PSI pump, that can push 3.5 gallons of water per minute through the system.

How heavy is the tank when full?

HydraHorse provides a 30 and a 50 gallon tank. 30 gallon tank, when full is approximately 240 lbs 50 gallon tank, when full is approximately 400lbs

Is horse wash accessory powerful enough to properly wash my horse?

The pump used by HydraHorse provides enough pressure to remove dirt and sweat from your horses hair coat. This not only keeps your horses healthy, but it can eliminate waiting in line at shows to use the wash station or allow you to wash your horse quick and easily after a trail ride.

Will my horse learn to drink from the system?

HydraHorse has yet to find a horse not capable of learning to drink from the system. By simply placing a small amount of water into the bowl, the horse will begin to drink and will inadvertently push the nozzle. Once they do this a few times, the horse will begin to play with the nozzle and the rest is history.
